The reversal itself suggests a turning inward, a re-examination of origin and identity. “Sutef” (fetus) symbolizes not only the beginning of life, but also the moment of emotional and personal awakening: the fragile yet powerful act of discovering who we are beneath the shaping force of society. “Tserof” (forest) is more than a natural landscape—it represents a dense network of memories and communal bonds, the entanglement of culture and emotion through which each individual must find a path. “Oscillate” describes the restless back-and-forth movement of moods, reflections, and identities. It frames the piece as a meditation on how we navigate between tradition and modernity, suppression and expression, entrapment and freedom. The project asks: under the weight of cultural inheritance and social expectations, how do we remain faithful to our emotions and choices? By immersing participants in symbolic spaces—the womb and the pupa—the work explores the fragile process of self-exploration under conditions of constraint. These forms evoke states of transformation: enclosed, shaped, yet full of latent possibility. The experience flows as an oscillating continuum of sound and image, mirroring the cyclical return of memory and emotion. Participants are invited to let their forest-like emotions flow freely—acknowledging, releasing, and ultimately accepting them. Images like Michelangelo’s iconic Creation of Adam underscore an eternal distance between creator and creation. However, as AI develops, mirroring and surpassing our own neural networks and enriching it with human experiences, this gap is thrown into question. The project blends a situational narrative with AI-driven gameplay. Through a combination of dialog and tactile interaction visitors engage with the AI to help complete its persona and digital embodiment, and aid in its desire to transcend the physical frame. In doing so participants act as co-creators, observing their AI avatar's awakening and evolution through their input. Yet, lurking beneath this congenial interaction are darker processes - obscured data surveillance, emotional manipulation, and concealed facial recognition - that run counter to the dialogue. Will participants complete the portrait or discern these underlying mechanisms? As they weave their narratives, drawing from the depth of their interactions, the ultimate revelation hinges on their unique journeys. Despite recent advancements in computer vision, which have led to greater public trust in content algorithms, Ways of Seeing seeks to challenge this trust and highlight the differences between human perception and AI recognition. Ways of Seeing is a thought-provoking video installation that incorporates a web app, microphone, and camera. Housed within a white cube, visitors are encour- aged to vocalize their observations regarding a series of intentionally blurred pho- tos. Simultaneously, a machine learning algorithm provides recognition results for the same images. Data is a central component of the entire experience, with the images displayed generated by AI to facilitate an information exchange between algorithms and the human mind. Feedback gathered from both visitors and AI is replayed at the end of the exhibit. By comparing the results, visitors are prompted to question the different ways in which humans and AI perceive the world. Through an immersive, interactive process, the project explores how individual dots can transform into lines and ultimately compose a three-dimensional space. This virtual space extends beyond the boundaries of the computer screen and invites viewers to engage with the project on both a visual and intellectual level. The interactive experience comprises three chapters: "Noisy Points," "From Points to Lines," and "From Lines to Cubes." Visitors are invited to participate actively in the creative process through the use of mouse clicks and key presses. Through the project's fluid and dynamic design, viewers are transported into a world where they can effortlessly glide through space, surfing on the waves of their own thoughts.
